The Crafty RooS Experience

Crafty Roos believes in introducing children to sewing and crafting as early as possible. The benefits are enormous for everyone involved. Not only does it help children improve their hand-to-eye co-ordination and stimulate their creativity and self-expression, but it is also a way of everyone bonding in a common interest. It can get a bit messy and crazy sometimes - but that’s all part of the fun and the learning process.
Book Class
Every week Crafty Roos will use different materials and techniques to create and to encourage learning a love of sewing and and crafts.
After school workshops take place during term time. There will also be available school holiday Crafty Roos day camps.

There are so many great benefits for children working with craft/sewing activities
  • Learn how to use a sewing machine
  • Improves co-ordination
  • Hones on fine motor control
  • Improving the child’s visual processing skills
  • Promotes executive functioning, meaning - focusing attention, controlling impulse and using working memory
  • Empowers children with positive emotional responses to learning (feeling of self-pride)
  • Teaches children to express themselves
  • Encourages creativity
  • Great bonding activity between friends and peers
